An Ascending Framework

Transform your company into a CHAMPION.

CHAMPION turns OKRs and healthy competition into one system. It tells every team where they stand, what they're building, and why it matters. Not a goal on a wall. A team that wants to win it.

Meet Paco Youssef, the creator of CHAMPION™

25 years inside the majors of oil and gas. ExxonMobil, Shell, CNRL, TC Energy, Enbridge. Projects up to $14 billion, across South America, North America and the Middle East.

But the projects are not the point.

What he actually did, most days, was fix how work moved. Map the process. Close the gaps where work fell between two teams. Cut the steps nobody could justify. Write down who decides, who does the work, and who needs to know.

Three continents. Different languages, different regulations, different cultures. Same pattern every time.

The problem is rarely lazy people. It is misaligned effort.

CHAMPION™ is that discipline, built for companies of any size.

The Reality

Your team is working.
Your strategy isn't moving.

This isn't a talent problem. These are the five most common reasons growing companies stall out, and they're exactly what CHAMPION™ is built to fix.

Beyond OKRs

What is an OKR? And why isn't that enough?

OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) are a goal-setting method: you set an Objective, the ambition, and a handful of Key Results, the numbers that prove you got there. Companies like Google and Intel popularized it, and it works, as far as it goes. But an OKR framework alone doesn't tell you who owns what, how your teams stay engaged, or how your culture actually changes.

What Makes CHAMPION™ Different

OKRs tell you what to aim at. They do not tell you who owns it, how your teams stay engaged, or what happens when a goal slips.

CHAMPION™ covers the rest. Roles with real accountability. A scoreboard everyone can see. Recognition built into the cycle instead of bolted on at the end.

OKRs, EOS, Balanced Scorecard, Hoshin Kanri and Lean each solve part of this. CHAMPION™ is built to cover all of it, and it arrives ready to run.

The CHAMPION™ Acronym

Every letter is a principle.
Every goal must earn all seven.

CHAMPION™ means two things: a winning mindset, and a set of rules every goal, team, and action has to follow.

CH
Challenging
Goals push teams beyond their comfort zone. Ambition is built into every objective.
A
Achievable
Every goal, no matter how bold, stays realistic and attainable.
M
Measurable
Progress is tracked continuously. Everyone always knows where they stand.
P
Purpose-Driven
Every goal connects back to the company purpose, vision, and objectives.
I
Inclusive
Everyone participates. Every individual has a role.
O
Organized
Structured schedules, agendas, calendars, and processes from start to finish.
N
Nurturing
Teams and individuals are recognized, rewarded, and celebrated every cycle.
The CHAMPION™ Philosophy

The best teams aren't the most talented.
They're the most aligned.

From the Chicago Bulls to the All Blacks to FC Barcelona, the greatest dynasties shared four things. CHAMPION™ builds all four into every cycle.

  1. 1One goal everyone can name. Not twenty priorities. One scoreboard the whole team is playing toward.
  2. 2A position for every person. Everyone knows their role, and everyone knows everyone else's.
  3. 3A score in the open. Nobody waits until the end of the season to find out where they stand.
  4. 4Recognition that means something. Effort gets seen. Results get celebrated. People stay.
For Founders, Owners, CEOs and Executives

Less noise. More delivery. A better bottom line.

CHAMPION™ isn't a culture initiative. It's an operating system for how your company communicates, focuses, and executes, built so the results show up in the numbers you're actually accountable for.

  • Every team knows what the others are building, and why, so status-update meetings stop being the only way to find out.
  • Focus narrows to the 2-3 objectives that actually move the number, not twenty scattered priorities.
  • Delivery speeds up: 90-day cycles replace year-long guesswork.
  • Hours stop leaking into rework and re-explaining. The scoreboard already says where things stand.
  • Margin holds. Guardrail metrics stop a team from winning the scoreboard by breaking something that costs you.
  • Corporate objectives land faster because every team's goals ladder straight up to them, in writing, every week.

Before & After

What actually changes.

Same team, same people. Here's the difference CHAMPION™ makes.

Without CHAMPION™
With CHAMPION™
Work hard on wrong things — effort high, progress slow.
Every person knows exactly what to work on and why it matters.
Leaders find out about problems after the deadline.
Blockers surface in the weekly check-in — not after.
Goals set once a year, forgotten by March.
Goals tracked weekly. Visible to everyone, every week.
Good people disengage when effort goes unseen.
Effort and results recognized publicly. People stay.
The whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.Winning teams are rarely the most talented on paper. Every player knows the role, shares the goal, and executes the same system. CHAMPION™ brings that to your business.
Founder Track Record

CHAMPION™ is new. The thinking behind it is not.

Four times in 25 years I was handed a problem everyone assumed was technical. Every time, the fix was alignment, clear ownership and a process people actually followed. CHAMPION™ is that approach, packaged so you can run it yourself.

Mechanical seal failures

Oil processing facility

Constant repairs, replacements and shutdowns. Everyone assumed it was a technical problem. The vendor, inspectors and technicians were all working on it separately and none of them were talking.

I put them in one process with clear reporting and clear actions.

Failures down 80% in months. Nobody redesigned the seal.

Lifting safety incidents

Multi billion dollar project

Lifting sat in the top three activities for safety incidents. The equipment was not the issue. The alignment was.

I built a committee with every stakeholder in the room, plus a process to find gaps, assign an owner to each one and verify it closed.

Incidents down 60%. Lifting dropped off the list.

Three teams, same old problems

Production facility

Engineering, service and construction. Years of delays, arguments and rework. No new people, no new budget.

I mapped the process, defined who owned what, set boundaries between the teams and opened the communication channels that did not exist.

One project ran 18 months. Zero incidents, 99% on budget, 99% on schedule. And it took less of my time than when I started.

The one that became CHAMPION™

Large pipeline company

I was asked to build project governance for a large pipeline company. I could not, because nothing was coming down from the top. No stated purpose. No core objectives. No principles.

I sat there and asked myself a question I have never forgotten. How can I do my job if nobody has told me what we are actually trying to achieve? That question was the beginning.

That gap is why CHAMPION™ starts at phase one with purpose and vision. Skip it and every phase after it is guesswork.

Four letters written on a job site. CHAMP. Over the years it became CHAMPION™.

These are results from the Creator's career in oil and gas, not from CHAMPION™ client engagements. CHAMPION™ packages the same approach for companies that cannot staff a corporate improvement department.

Be the first.

CHAMPION™ has not run a full client cycle yet. That is exactly why the first few are worth taking.

You get me directly, not an associate. Founding rates. And your results become the case study, with your approval on every word.

One team. One 90 day cycle. Then you decide.

What's Inside CHAMPION™

One system. Six roles. A live scoreboard.

A quick look at the shape of it, not the whole playbook. That part's worth a conversation.

Recognition Built In

Recognition isn't an afterthought. It's built into the system.

A team reviewing performance data together at a table
Guardrail Metrics

Push hard. Protect what matters.

Stretch goals can tempt a team to win the scoreboard while quietly breaking something that counts. Guardrails set a floor you will not cross.

  • 1 to 3 guardrails set per cycle
  • A floor for each, non-negotiable
  • If a guardrail breaks, the goal isn't won, no matter the score
An office team celebrating a win together, arms raised
Recognition & Culture

Competition without recognition is just pressure.

At the end of every cycle, teams and individuals are recognized publicly. Effort matters as much as results.

  • Rewards for top-performing teams and individuals
  • Public acknowledgment in company-wide forums
  • Celebration of milestones and personal growth
